Hey guys. Sorry about the lack of blogging again! I've been pretty busy lately!
It's officially Summer Break! The best part of this one?!
I GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL!!!! :]
Pretty dang excited about that. Our last day of school was Thursday May 23rd, and the Commencement Ceremony was Friday May 24th! Since then I have had my open house (a graduation celebration), spent nearly every day with friends, and went to the IYC graduation banquet. It's been a crazy couple of weeks, but it's been fun!

High School graduation is kind of surreal. I still don't feel like a Center Grove High School Alumni. I remember, like it it was yesterday, walking in to the halls on the first day of freshman year. Totally cliche, but I even remember having my headphones in listening to Taylor Swift's "Fifteen." I remember being nervous and excited. The past four years hold many memories. Crazy teachers, barely getting assignments done on time. Teamwork with Elaine and Chase in biology.. Indoor Percussion, Marching band. Friday Night football games, pep band games, concert band concerts, lazy nights with friends... Disney movie marathons. It's a lot I'll never forget.
As I move on to college next year, I'm super nervous. I'm the only person from Center Grove High School going to IPFW next year. Not a single familiar face. I make friends pretty quickly and easily, but I can't imagine finding anyone better than all my current friends.
It's okay though, I still have two and a half month with these people :]

IYC graduation. Holy crap. I've been apart of this organization for eight years. My last blog post (5/19/2013) describes exactly what this organization has been like for me.
I just wanted to take a second and thank everyone in the ICC/IYC. Next year.. that first Sunday I'm not at rehearsal will be rough. Not seeing my long time friends, not singing in my favorite choir... But It's time for me to move on. God has blessed me with the many years in this organization, and I am eternally grateful for that. Without it I wouldn't have met some of my best and closest friends. IYC graduation isn't a goodbye, it's a see you later kind of thing.
So now, with those two big events past us, it's time to get the rest of summer started!
I leave later today for a much needed vacation to North Carolina! A week in a beach house? I can live with that. I'm actually supposed to be packing right now (oops, sorry mom). We spend most of the week in North Carolina, then head to South Carolina for my cousin Noah's graduation party!
Once we get back from vacation, it's CHORAL FESTIVAL!
One of my favorite weeks of the year. The ICC holds this summer day camp for young kids in Indianapolis. I've been volunteering since 7th grade! Basically we get to hang out with young kids and teach them music and watch them perform in a huge concert at the end of the week!
This camp is super hard on the illness, I'm going, going, going from roughly 8am until about 4pm. For 6 days. It's a marathon week for sure, but helping these kids makes me feel like I am doing something important, and it is totally worth the extra ill feelings.
In illness news, I went to the doctor this week! Nada. Another one of those "Here's your refill" kind of appointments. There's really nothing left for me to do right now, in my doctor's words, so I just have to keep fighting through.
Okay, I need to actually finish up packing now, I've procrastinated long enough. (I'm really good at that). I'll check back in in the next couple of weeks and fill you in!
